StoneFolk

Northwestern Michigan Swamp-Rock

StoneFolk

StoneFolk is an all Americana Swamp-Rock band emerging from the backroads and waterways of Northwestern Michigan. Born on the run in April 2019, singer/songwriter Aaron Dye and bassist/sousaphonist Kevin LaRose collaborated with musical minds to embark on a sonic odyssey across the County Lines. Later in 2021, expanding the sound with the addition of drummer/crooner Skylar Mclain, creating their unique combination of swooning vocals, outrageous dancing sousaphone marches, and solid tight-knit beats culminating into a sound all their own. The group’s influences range from outlaw-trucker/funk to indie-rock/jazz and R&B, inspired by legendary bands like Little Feat, Gram Parsons and the Fallen Angels, The Wood Brothers, and The Meters.

The trio has been honored to play for venues and festivals such as Workshop Brewing Co, Oredock Brewing, The 2021 National Cherry Festival, and Harvest Gathering. With exciting opportunities in the works for 2023 to play Short’s Fest and Blissfest, as well as a debut album that has been two years in the making, set to be released this year. Among some of the Band’s other merits, they have been known to be a collaborative backing band for local musician heroes like Blake Elliot, Tim Jones, and John Paul. This transformative and talented group is one you cannot miss this summer!
